Rhodes Christmas Baking Party

Rhodes Christmas Baking Party

I was 1 of 50 chosen to participate in a +Rhodes Bread Christmas Baking Party thanks to +Tryazon! I received a box with the items in the picture above it came with an apron, oven mitt, cook book, dishcloth, fifteen $1.00 off coupons and 3 coupons for any Rhodes frozen rolls or bread for FREE! I was so ready and excited for my baking party!

I invited friends and family to come over and I had several people look through the Rhodes cook book and pick out some recipes they wanted to try.

The First Recipe we made was A chili cheese braid.

The Ingredients:
12 Rhodes Dinner Rolls
16 ounce can of chili
1/4 cup of chopped green onions
1/4 cup of chopped green pepper
1 cup of grated cheddar cheese

The First step was to spray the counter with non-stick cooking spray. Roll the Rhodes dinner rolls into a 12X16 rectangle. Then cover and with plastic wrap and let rest 10-15 minutes.
The next step was to pour the chili on the dough and top with green onions, green peppers and cheddar cheese and cut the sides 1 1/2 inches apart.

Next step is to begin the braid by folding top and bottom strips towards the filling. Then braid strips left over right, right over left.

Finish by pulling last strip over and tucking under braid.

Lift braid with both hands and place on a large sprayed baking sheet. Cover with Sprayed plastic wrap and let rise 30 minutes.

Remove wrap and bake at 350 for 30-35 mins or until golden brown.

The Next recipe I made was Fresh Corn & Cheddar Bake

Ingredients:
1 loaf of Rhodes bread (Baked Following the instructions on package and a day old.)
2 tablespoons butter
4 cups fresh corn kernals
1/2 small onion, chopped
1 can diced green chiles
3 large eggs
1 pint half & half
1 tablespoon dijon mustard
2 teaspoons finely chopped fresh thyme
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon pepper
2 cups grated cheddar cheese

my Rhodes day old baked bread

Melt butter in a large skillet. Add corn and onion, cook stirring often for about 4 minutes. Remove from head and add green chiles.
In a large bowl whisk together the eggs, half & half, mustard, thyme and salt & pepper. Stir in the corn, onion mixture.
Place half of the bread crumbs evenly in the bottom of a sprayed 2 1/2 quart casserole dish or 9x13-inch baking dish.

Pour in half of the creamy corn mixture, sprinkle with half of the cheddar cheese. Repeat with the remaining bread, creamy corn mixture and cheese.
Bake at 350 for 35-45 minutes.

Next I made Mini Monkey Bread for dessert!

Ingredients:
12 Rhodes Dinner Rolls (Thawed but still cold)
6 tablespoons butter (melted)
2 tablespoons corn syrup
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 teaspoons cinnamon
(I also added pecan pieces.)
ICING:
1 cup powdered sugar
1 tablespoon butter (melted)
1-2 tablespoons milk
1/2 teaspoon vanilla

Cut each dinner roll into 6 equal pieces.
In a bowl, combine the butter and corn syrup and stir until well mixed.
In another bowl, combine sugar and cinnamon and mix well.
Dip 6 rolls at a time in the butter mixture and then the sugar mixture.
Place these 6 pieces into each well sprayed cup of a 12-cup muffin tin.
Cover with Sprayed plastic wrap and let double in size.
Remove wrap and bake at 350 for 15-20 minutes.
Combine icing ingredients and mix well.
Drizzle over monkey bread if desired.

We had an amazing party we had the Chili cheese Braid and Fresh Corn & Cheddar bake and I made a few just plain rolls for dinner and then for dessert we had the Mini Monkey Bread. The Rhodes Bread was all SO good! It is definitely my favorite!

It was all really good and we had a fun time. Everyone loved the food and they also all loved the coupons for $1.00 off I handed out to everyone that came to the party.

It was a really fun experience for my friends and family and a big thanks to +Rhodes Bread and +Tryazon for this awesome opportunity! #Tryazon
